About Fair Harbor (visit our sister-site FairHarbor.com): If You ever wondered what happened to the people of the 80ies. Well they got married, bought a beach-house, had children. At present, Fair Harbor is a friendly community with young and middle aged parents and mature groups plus a lot of people in between. The ocean beaches are wide and glorious; the bayside provides space for boating, be it sailing, windsurfing, jet-skiing. You may, if you are lucky, be able to leave your Hobie-Cat or windsurfer in one of the assigned spaces for a fee. And yes, we still have the sixisch, where revelers informally get-together on the dock to cheer the spectacular sunset over the Bay. In my opinion, better than Key West. We have a supermarket, liquor store, hardware store with clothing, and a restaurant. Residents here take pride in their paradise and are considerate and responsible. See a Fair Harbor Street Map at this link. Use your browsers "Back" key to come back to this page. There are no paved roads leading to Fair Harbor, and during the summer season, no motor vehicles are permitted beyond the Robert Moses State Park parking lot. This secluded ness adds to the special ambiance and flair beckoning you to explore the miles and miles of beaches and natural beauty of this special Island. Fair Harbor Community Association (see Fair Harbor Community Assoc. Page): Many of the facilities and services you may use or experience were created by the volunteers of the association. Created and paid for by the donations of money and time of individuals who care for the community they live in. Please join them! Meeting notices are posted on the bulletin boards by the playground and ferry. Or e-mail me or call 583-7750. Renters and Owners are welcome! Fair Harbor Volunteer Fire Department: Here’s group of dedicated volunteers that over the year have donated thousands of hours for the safety and well-being of our community. Unselfishly putting their own health at risk for us all. These men and women deserve our full support. Why don’t you join them! It’s for a good cause and a growing experience for you! |
